The City of Oak Harbor is a major provider of recreational services in the greater Oak Harbor area on North Whidbey Island. The City's 30-plus parks provide both passive and active recreational opportunities on over 150 acres, including walking trails, picnic areas, ball fields, playgrounds, neighborhood parks, a marina, senior center, and recreational vehicle park. Oak Harbor's waterfront also allows for access to 1.5 miles of public shoreline.
In addition, North Whidbey Park and Recreation District operates an indoor swimming pool, 2 baseball fields, and an off-leash dog park.
