Arts Project Proposal

  1. Art Project Proposal Form

    This worksheet is for Candidate Projects that require support from the Arts Commission to ensure sufficient interest and commitment. Any community member may propose a candidate project. Applicants must complete this worksheet for the Arts Commission’s evaluation. Each project will be reviewed by the Arts Commission using the Project Candidate Worksheet to determine its selection and inclusion in the Action Plan.

  2. Define what you are asking of the Arts Commission. (i.e. Financial, administrative, project management, etc.) 

  3. Art Project Criteria

    Your proposal will be reviewed based on the following criteria, which aligns with the goals outlined in the City of Oak Harbor Art Plan.  The full plan can be reviewed HERE.

  4. How does the project make arts and culture more visible to a large number of people? How does it contribute to showing Oak harbor's creativity to both residents and visitors?

  5. How does the project help to enhance physical connections within the city and/or improve wayfinding?

  6. How does the project bring together people in the arts community? Please identify any community partners currently involved. 

  7. How does the project bring arts out into the neighborhoods and engage local community members in shaping their public spaces? Alternatively, how does it contribute to an attractive cluster of arts in an important geographic location, such as the waterfront, the historic area, key pathways, etc.?

  8. Who does the project serve in the community? How will it offer needed programs, events, or public art for communities that are currently underserved? Describe the process you have used to ensure this project is meaningful to the communities it will serve.

  9. How does the level of effort and resources needed for the project result in a benefit in line with the commitment of resources?

    Thank you for your submission. You will be updated on the status of the application within 60 days of submitting.

     The Art Commission will be evaluating the proposal using the Project Candidate Worksheet for selection and inclusion in the Action Plan.

    Projects requesting financial support will be reviewed at the annual Arts Commission budget meeting.
