City of Oak Harbor – The City of Oak Harbor is pleased to announce the appointment of Magi Aguilar as the new Communications Officer. With a distinguished background and a proven track record of success, Magi brings a wealth of experience and a fresh vision for engaging our community to this pivotal role.

Previously serving as the Executive Director at the Greater Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, she demonstrated exemplary leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to fostering strong relationships within the community. Under Magi’s direction, the Chamber of Commerce saw unprecedented growth, connectivity, and engagement, significantly enhancing the City's business landscape, community exposure, and tourism outreach.

In her new role as Communications Officer, Magi is dedicated to working with all City departments and staff to elevate the City's communications strategy. Her goal is to implement more intentional, transparent, and effective communication practices and ensure that every resident feels informed, heard, and connected to the City's initiatives and developments.

"I am honored to take on this new role and to serve the City of Oak Harbor in this capacity," said Aguilar. "My primary objective is to build trust, encourage engagement, and enhance our community's overall quality of life. I will strategically build innovative communication strategies to ensure the City’s message is clear, consistent, and impactful.”

Sabrina Combs held the Executive Services Administrator position, which also included communications, before being appointed to the Interim City Administrator position. I am excited to have Magi join us in the Mayor's Office. Her experience and professionalism are key in the City's Communications Officer role. Through this new role, we will focus more on community partnerships and outreach, Magi will expand on the Mayor's goal to provide more engagement and connections with our community partners. I can't wait to see her plans for communications and hope people will follow us on Facebook or sign up for news alerts from the City website so they can receive updates on all the great programs and services our City provides because of our talented staff.
