[ARCHIVED] City Issues Stage 1 Voluntary Water Conservation Notice

The Public Works Water Division issued a Stage 1 – Voluntary Water Conservation Notice today.

The Water Division issued the notice due to work on a waterline that impacted the amount of water coming onto the island from the City of Anacortes. The City is asking all water customers to practice Stage 1 Water Conservation Measures. This includes taking the following steps to immediately reduce water usage:

  • Take shorter showers for five minutes or less using low-flow devices.
  • Turn the water off when brushing your teeth.
  • Flush toilets less
  • Run full loads of laundry.
  • Fix leaks around the house
  • Water lawns and plants less often

Making these changes can help all of us reduce our water usage. Staff estimates it will take two to three days for water levels to return to normal. We appreciate your assistance in conserving water.
