During the City Council Workshop on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Harbormaster Chris Sublet announced the City of Oak Harbor Marina Boat Ramp Launch Repair will be completed and ready for use on Saturday, July 1. This is exciting news for the community and the beginning of the crabbing season on July 1.
The Marina closed the boat ramp launch on April 4, 2022, after the damage occurred to the float and pile. The damage happened after a large boat was tied to the launch during a windstorm. City staff worked to remove debris from the damage and identify a contractor for repairs.
Mayor Severns said, "I want to thank City staff and our contractors from Moffat Nichol and American Construction for working to complete this project by July 1 for the crabbing season. I know the community appreciates your efforts.”
