Biography
Chris Wiegenstein was appointed by the City Council and sworn in as Councilmember for Position 4 on May 24, 2023.
Councilmember Wiegenstein’s family first arrived in Oak Harbor in 1958 when his grandfather was stationed on NAS Whidbey Island. Chris was born in Bellevue, WA and considers Oak Harbor home since 1975. He attended school in Oak Harbor and was in the class of 1990. He has received his Associate of Science in Addictions, Bachelor of Arts Psychology with counseling concentration, and Master of Science Counseling.
Chris’s family has a long history of service and business ownership during their time in Oak Harbor. He follows in his grandfather and parent’s footsteps, serving our community by volunteering in many local and state organizations. Chris is a business owner and recently served as an elected commissioner for NWPPRD, resigning after receiving this appointment.

Chris is the proud father of 3 sons and grandfather of 4 grandchildren.
