Employment Process
Thank you for your interest in employment with the City of Oak Harbor
The City of Oak Harbor encourages applications from all qualified persons regardless of age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, national origin, honorably discharged veteran or military status, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability or any other status protected by law.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to apply for a current open position, please email Human Resources, contact by phone at 360-279-4518, or fax your requested accommodation to 360-279-4518. If you do not require an accommodation to apply for a current open position, please apply by following the directions in the application packet.
Application Process
It is important that your online application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. Please pay careful attention to the various attachments that are required, as they vary with each recruitment. You must include your employment history, for at least the previous 5 years, in the online application in order to be considered for employment. Your resume and cover letter may not be used as a substitute for a complete application. Applications may be rejected if they are incomplete. Resumes and cover letters are supplemental to the online application. They provide additional details regarding an applicant but are not relied upon to determine minimum qualifications in the process. Incomplete or inaccurate information may be reason for disqualification from further consideration.
This employment information is for applicant general information only and does not constitute actual or an implied contractual commitment. Some benefits are negotiated through a collective bargaining unit.
