Celebrating our community, partners, environment, and staff is what #ThisIsOakHarbor means to us! 

We’re excited to introduce our new #ThisIsOakHarbor initiative, a celebration of everything that makes Oak Harbor a unique and vibrant place to live, work, and visit. This initiative is all about honoring the incredible partnerships within our community, recognizing the residents who make it feel like home, and appreciating the beautiful environments surrounding us. Aren't the views amazing in Oak Harbor? 

But......... it doesn’t stop there. This initiative also represents the hardworking staff who are dedicated to serving our city every day.

Our staff is the backbone of Oak Harbor, and they bring a lot of value to what makes Oak Harbor special. Last November (2024) we conducted a fun survey at an all staff event about what #ThisIsOakHarbor means to our staff. Through their feedback, we learned just how much pride they take in the city and how deeply connected they feel to the community they serve. Whether it's collaborating with local businesses, ensuring our parks are well-maintained, or supporting residents in every corner of Oak Harbor, our staff always goes above and beyond!

Why #ThisIsOakHarbor you ask? 

The hashtag is a movement, and a way for all of us, residents, staff, and visitors alike, to share what makes Oak Harbor special to them. Is it the charm of our downtown? The people who call Oak Harbor home? Is it the fun events throughout the city? Is it our neighborhoods, or the natural beauty of our waterfront and parks? Whatever your answer is, we all take part in what makes us a unique city.

As we move forward with this initiative, we invite you to join us in celebrating from the small everyday moments to the bigger community achievements, every story adds to the #ThisIsOakHarbor initiative.
