The project will take place on SW Swantown Avenue between State Route 20 (SR 20) and SW Heller Street.
This local and state funded project will remove and replace the top 2-inches of the roadway surface, upgrade accessibility ramps, install a bi-directional separated bike lane, and install new pavement striping.

Funding
This construction project is possible because of a $400,356 grant from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) through the Arterial Preservation Program. The City’s streets capital funds will cover costs associated with improvements on this section of roadway.

Schedule
The contractor (Miles Resources, LLC) is anticipated to begin the preliminary work on August 20th, 2025.
- Removal of existing asphalt – Tuesday (9/9) & Wednesday (9/10)
- Paving – Thursday (9/11) & Friday (9/12)
- Concrete work and pavement markings – Week of September 15th
